Frequently Asked Questions

What is STEAM with Seleste?

STEAM with Seleste is a hands-on, heart-centered learning space where Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math meet curiosity, creativity, and connection. We offer engaging programs for children, as well as resources for educators and caregivers, all built on trauma-informed, brain-based practices.

Who is Seleste?

Hi, that’s me! I’m an educator with a deep love for science, a passion for helping children discover their strengths, and a commitment to creating safe spaces for learning. My journey has been shaped by both my love of chemistry and my personal healing process, and I’ve built STEAM with Seleste to combine those worlds in a way that uplifts children, teachers, and families alike.

What does “trauma-informed” mean in your programs?

In our context, “trauma-informed” means we understand that a child’s feelings of safety and connection come first. We design classrooms, routines, and learning experiences that help children regulate emotions, build trusting relationships, and stay engaged in learning. We also support educators and caregivers in adopting these strategies.

What are your main programs?

We currently offer:

  • Adventures in STEAM – Hands-on, career-inspired learning for children, showing them the endless possibilities beyond traditional career paths.

  • Teacher’s Toolbox – Free, accessible resources for educators to create calm, connected classrooms with Behavior Management, Classroom Setup Guides, and Routines & Rituals.

  • Healing Through Parenting – Gentle, practical strategies to help caregivers foster connection, build emotional literacy, and parent with clarity and confidence.

Do you only work with children who have experienced trauma?

No — our programs are designed for all children. While our approaches are rooted in practices that support children who have faced challenges, the truth is that every child benefits from environments that are safe, calm, and connection-focused.

What ages do you work with?

Our classroom resources are especially suited for preschool through early elementary, but the concepts and strategies can be adapted for older students as well.

Is Teacher’s Toolbox really free?

Yes! One of my biggest commitments is making effective, compassionate teaching strategies accessible to everyone — no paywalls, no hidden fees. I know firsthand how valuable these tools are, and I want all educators to have access to them without financial barriers.

How can parents use your resources at home?

Our Healing Through Parenting section offers practical tools for building emotional literacy, creating predictable routines, and fostering connection — all of which can be woven into daily life at home.

Can I use your resources if I’m new to teaching or parenting?

Absolutely! Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience, our resources are designed to meet you where you are and grow with you.
